What Problem Can You Solve?

What problem does your heart want to solve? Abraham Lincoln defined democracy as “the government of the people, by the people, and for the people.” He understood what he was saying. 😊 This doesn’t happen here, does it?

We all are leaders in one way. Placing the fault entirely on our Nigerian rulers won’t solve anything. The system has been faulty from the roots, and it has grown so deep into the ground that it’s become a tree 🌲. So, what’s the solution to the long-term problem of a nation whose rulers keep shouting “Change” all around, yet all we see is just a voice dancing without a beat?

Whether we live in a corrupt land or not, ask yourself: What problem does your heart want to solve? You can’t solve the whole issue by talking about it in protests. There are actions you can take too. You may live in luxury while there’s a beggar in the same area. Instead of blaming the country, you can solve the problem of the needy yourself.

What makes you different from the rulers? Is it a nation that doesn’t have a database of its people, making it difficult to assist someone who might not even officially exist? You can become a leader by bringing out the good qualities in humans. Let’s live in love and harmony. We are brothers and sisters.

* It’s not every time that you should beat the boy who stole your #100 — he’s starving, and that’s the best his brain can think of to survive. * It’s not every time that you should frown at beggars when you have nothing to offer. You can still offer a smile. Life has dealt with them enough. Solve their problem.

According to the Himba tribe: “The correction of antisocial behavior doesn't pass through punishment, it is by love and reminder of identity. When you recognise your own song, you don't want or need to do anything that would harm the others.”

Everyone has a song to sing. Remind others of their song. We are not born to be beggars. We are not born to be slaves. We are not born to suffer and be caged like a parrot. Remind others of the song of freedom, the song of love, the song of truth that teaches us about the days of our ancestors. Remind others of their identity. Do you really know who you are? Remind them. Become the solution we all need.

Although we might be lost in the wilderness of life, remember this: “And when it's time to find home, we know the way.”

So I ask again: What problem does your heart want to solve? “Seven lives, that's what I've got. I am an Africa Boy.”
